01 February 2008 Welcome to the land of me. It's not much yet but, be fair, I have been very busy. Soon I hope to be able to give you samples of my voiceover work. When I've worked out how to do it. Then, who knows, maybe even a movie clip! Talented or what?

Last spring I had a run at The Mill Theatre, Sonning in Brian Clemens' new thriller "Strictly Murder". He's a clever old stick Brian. This plot doesn't thicken, it starts thick and increases in viscosity as we go on. No fat on this script though, just blood, power and energy as it twists and turns keeping the audience glued to the edge of their seats - imagine that - sticky buns! The clues are all there, but no-one has yet guessed the final twist. Judging by the reaction and the notices in the press, we are a hit. The Stage said, and I quote: "Suitable for a West End transfer"! Well, we'll see...

Apart from enormous professional satisfaction, we had great fun. A smashing cast: Nick Waring, Maxine Gregory, Clare Hatfield, the superb Jeffrey Perry and the even more wonderful me, directed by Sally Hughes we couldn't go wrong.   I really believe this piece has a future.

Last May I directed Ray Cooney's 'Funny Money'.     We opened to cracking reviews in Lincoln and has toured for the summer and autumn.   It was a national tour for Ian Dickens starring John Altman, my old mate Vicki Michelle, Chris Ellison, Peter Blake, Sally-Ann Matthews and the ever effervescent David Callister.   It was the antidote to autumn blues and you've  missed it!

As an actor I've been back on the road (somebody help!).  A comedy thriller called 'A Party to Murder'.  I've known better pieces.  It read well though and the audiences liked it.   I discovered on the first day of rehearsals that my character is west coast American.  After a few weeks doing a vocal tour of the States I settled down to what has been described as a passable Northern Californian accent.  It's always best to do an accent that nobody is familiar with...

My wife ran into Mike Read (the DJ not the comic), an old friend who on discovering I was at a loose end, inveigled me into co-presenting The Dead Poets Society, a feast of poetry and music composed by him - clever sod!

As this site is supposed just to be about me as an actor I shouldn't really deviate.  Suffice to say I'm sitting in my freezing office doing writing acting!

STOP PRESS!

Here are my girls - much better than boring old me...

                                           And the proud Daddy!
